Monopoly and cost impact generics
Posted in News
The high-cost generics that have caused price increases to the NHS have been reported in our ‘Monopoly Generic’ Tag over the last year. This list referenced The Times article in June 2016 and we have taken the decision to make this drug list static, so no drugs will be added or removed from the Tag.
There is now a new Tag available in Define® and Refine® that indicates where a generic drug is more than twice as expensive as a branded version based on NHS Indicative price. This Tag is called ‘Cost Impact Drugs List’ and can be seen here.
