ADIoS – ANTICIPATED PEAKS IN COVID SUPPORTIVE MEDICINES
Posted in News
Those Trusts that use ADIoS to monitor issues of controlled medicines are likely to see spikes in the following classes of medicines:
• Alfentanil
• Fentanyl
• Ketamine
• Midazolam.
These medicines have been used in the symptomatic treatment of Covid-19 patients and are most likely to have been used appropriately. Based on the methods that we use to determine unusual issues, we anticipate that warnings will be raised. Please check that the ward locations are appropriate for Covid treatment, the formulations are the ones that have been supplied for Covid and if you are happy that this is clinical use only then fill in the reason as ‘Clinical Need’.
Also, to prevent the unusual data skewing future pictures, these issues can be removed from future analysis.
Please give us a call on 01392 460263 if you would like to know how to do this.
