Drug description – unit clarification
Posted in News
There are a few instances for each Trust where it has not been possible to map the Trust description to dm+d as the information supplied is not sufficient to identify the intended product or pack size. For example:
● stating a ‘pot’ or ‘jar’ of a special order cream or ointment without an indication of the amount ordered in g,
● the description ‘box’ for an outer of ampoules where boxes of 10, 20, or 50 ampoules are available
Trusts can identify the items in this category by logging on to the Rx-info homepage, selecting ‘mapping’ from the bottom of the home page > Drug Mapping > Define Drug Mapping and selecting ‘Drug Desc/unit clarification’ under Bucket. If it is possible to provide further information for a description, please email Rx-info or phone 01392 460263 with the details and the team will update the record.
