Many patients would benefit from having medicines instructions printed in languages other than English.
As a free service, available to all pharmacists and GPs no matter where they work, Rx-info developed Translabel, a dedicated system which will create print-ready labels in any one of 40 different languages, including Polish, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, French, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish which are the most common first languages in the UK besides English and Welsh.
To assist patients with visual impairment, Translabel alsos produce large print in any of the available languages.
Like all Rx-info products, Translabel was developed by pharmacists for pharmacists. It does not replace mandatory labels stipulated in law, but is designed to supplement those labels for the benefit of patients.
